Hampshire County Youth Orchestra and String Orchestra held their first concert of the year at Thornden Hall, Chandlers Ford on Saturday 26 November 2016.
In March 2017 HCYO will be performing Carmina Burana at the Anvil in March 2017. This is a huge choral work they will be performing, but to give you a taster, last night they played a few of the movements which work without a choir! Hampshire County String Youth Orchestra performed Plink, Plank, Plunk by Leroy Anderson last night. Anderson is a master of light hearted classical music and the String Orchestra performed it brilliantly along with special guest Connor Lyster on percussion.
HCYO’s very own Carl Clausen and David Scott performed Steve Reich’s Clapping Music as an 80th birthday tribute. Amazing!
