Following on from the success of HCYO’s busking at the Portsmouth Guildhall for the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra’s Christmas concert, we have been invited back!
Like last time, we have been asked to provide pre-concert music and during the interval too.
The date is Thursday 9th March for the BSO’s Heroes and Legends concert. We appreciate this is a week night, but there’s only one more day before the weekend, plus, if you wish to leave after the interval performance rather than stay to the end, please feel free to do so.
Exact details are being finalised with the Portsmouth Guildhall but the plan at the moment is to arrive for 18.15 as we did in December, and be ready to play as guests arrive and again provide music during the interval. You will be free to leave at about 21.00 after the interval.
When the parts have been allocated, music can be scanned and emailed to you if you would like.
We have sourced suitable music and are looking for TWO groups of players as follows:
Part 1 = Flute, Oboe, Trumpet, Clarinet
Part 2 = Flute, Clarinet, Trumpet, Alto Sax
Part 3 = Clarinet, Trumpet, Trombone, Euphonium, F & Eb Horn
Part 4 = F & Eb Horn, Trombone, Euphonium, Bassoon
Part 5 = Bass Trombone, Bassoon, Tuba, Bass Clarinet, Baritone Sax
and
Part 1 = violin / flute or oboe
Part 2 = violin / flute or oboe
Part 3 = viola
Part 4 = cello / bass or bassoon
To remind you, in December we raised a staggering £772 when the Orchestra busked at the Portsmouth Guildhall. This money provides vital funds for the Friends to enable us to subsidise events like Bryanston and tours to the tune of £25,000 per year!
Please email hcyobusking@gmail.com with your name and instrument and we will be in touch soon.
