Oh, what a night! The busking at the Portsmouth Guildhall on the 22nd December was a massive success.
Two groups provided pre-concert music for the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra’s Last Night of the Christmas Proms. Music was also provided during the interval and there was a bucket collection at the end too!
We raised a whopping total of £772.18! From this, the Friends donated 20% to the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra’s charity and 20% to the Portsmouth Guildhall’s charity the Portsmouth Cultural Trust (they will use the money for their Creative Careers Roadshow, which will be touring local schools, supporting young people who are interested in pursuing creative careers).
Firstly, thank you to the BSO and Portsmouth Guildhall for allowing us to busk at their event. Thanks also to past members Zac Choppen, Hollie Branson and Meg Bishop who came along to support the orchestra. And finally, thank you to the young musicians and parents who helped.
