Each year the orchestra morphs as the musicians move on during their lives to new and exciting ventures. Inevitably this means the committee members move on as their children do.
At the AGM, which will be held on Saturday 7 April after the first concert at Bryanston, the Friends will need to elect a new treasurer. Our present treasurer, Kevin Osborne, will be stepping down as his daughter leaves HCYO in the summer.
We also need someone to take over the role of fundraising champion. Lea Holmes, who is our present fundraising champion, is the principal point of contact with the Hampshire County Councillors who provide our largest source of grant funding. The role can also be adapted to undertake various tasks to whatever the new person wishes to take on.
We also require a busking co-ordinator to contact venues to book for December throughout Hampshire and to then arrange for groups of buskers to play.
The positions for all roles come with a handover over the summer term and training!
The Friends are required by Charity Commission rules to have a treasurer and without one, the charity would not be able to continue.
